Seines

Shore seines, minnow seines and fixed seines, with or without pocket, for shallow water sampling.
The seine is a net drawn by hand or by boat to form an arc and gather fish. The shore seine surrounds a specific habitat along the shoreline, with a finer-mesh central section to retain fry, smelts, sand lances, and capelin. The minnow seine, which is smaller, features a square, rectangular, or conical central pocket. The fixed seine is stretched across a river during electrofishing; its fabric bottom edge is weighted. Filmar manufactures each seine to measure in green or black knotless nylon, with oval or delta mesh, floats every 2 feet, pre-stretched rope on the top bolt-rope, and a double lead line.
